Juventus, Sampdoria and Italy striker dies aged 58 | Gianluca Vialli Former Chelsea

Former Chelsea striker and director Gianluca Vialli, who played 59 times for Italy, has failed at the age 58. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2017 but said in April 2020 that he would been given the each-clear.

Vialli also had a short spell as director of Watford, also in the alternate league, during the 2001- 02 season but was dismissed after the Hornets only finished 14th.
In October 2019 he was appointed to Italy’s backroom staff by director and former Sampdoria team- mate Roberto Mancini. He helped the Azzurri win Euro 2020 with win over England at Wembley in July 2021.
