“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child: The Official Play” is J.K. Rowling's latest book, which was published in two parts in July 2016 and was a smash hit. It is the eighth story in the Harry Potter series, created by Rowling. The play is a sequel to the seventh book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.”

Synopsis: The play begins with a letter written by Harry Potter, addressed to his son, Albus Severus Potter. Harry writes that after Albus turned eleven, he felt he should leave him something as a gift. Albus has lived with Harry’s best friends, the Dursleys, for most of his life. Harry writes that he wrote a play for Albus, based on his life story. Harry says he’s not very good at words, but he does include some of his favorite memories in the play. In the play, Harry also writes that he has left Albus a “cursed” ring, which will allow him to keep his relationship with Harry alive. The play opens with Harry Potter and his wife Ginny Weasley discussing the letter and what to do with it. Harry decides to give Albus the play, but the Dursleys want nothing to do with him. Harry and Ginny decide to give the play to Albus anonymously. They also decide to leave the ring with Albus, so that he can maintain his relationship with Harry. Albus is then introduced and is excited to see his father play. The play begins with

In the official play “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” Harry Potter and his son, Albus Severus Potter, are now adults. Harry recently became Headmaster of Hogwarts while his wife, Ginny, moved to America with their two children, Rose and Hugo. At the same time, Albus struggles with the weight of his past, as he discovers a mysterious woman who has taken an interest in his father’s past. The play is a continuation of the original Harry Potter series, but the story is not canon. The play is a combination of the original story and a new story set in the Cursed Child universe.
