The Global Impact of EJAF

The foundation’s impact extends across multiple continents, with significant efforts concentrated in regions where the HIV/AIDS epidemic has been most devastating. These regions include Sub-Saharan Africa, where the majority of the global HIV population resides, as well as Eastern Europe, Asia, and marginalized communities in the United States and the United Kingdom.

  1. Sub-Saharan Africa: This region has been the hardest hit by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, with millions of people living with the virus. EJAF has funded numerous initiatives in Sub-Saharan Africa, focusing on increasing access to treatment, care, and preventive services. These programs work to combat the socio-economic barriers that hinder access to healthcare, such as poverty, lack of infrastructure, and cultural stigma.
  2. Eastern Europe and Central Asia: These regions have seen a rise in HIV infections, particularly among marginalized groups such as people who inject drugs and LGBTQ+ individuals. EJAF has been instrumental in funding harm reduction programs, advocacy initiatives, and providing legal support to organizations fighting discriminatory laws and practices.

United States and United Kingdom: Although these countries have made significant progress in combating HIV, marginalized communities—especially Black, Latinx, and LGBTQ+ populations—are still disproportionately affected. Groundbreaking Campaigns

One of EJAF’s most notable campaigns is the Rocket Fund, an initiative aimed at fast-tracking efforts to end AIDS in vulnerable communities. Launched in 2018, the Rocket Fund focuses on increasing funding and resources for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment, and stigma eradication efforts. Through this initiative, EJAF has been able to provide targeted assistance to regions and communities that are often overlooked by traditional funding sources.

Another major initiative has been the Love Is in My Blood campaign, launched in 2013. This campaign sought to bring attention to the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis by featuring powerful visuals and stories of individuals affected by the virus. By utilizing social media and other digital platforms, the campaign reached millions of people globally, raising awareness and encouraging action.
